Saltwater Marketing: headless Storyblok rebuild (Claude Code)
A full rebuild of Saltwater Marketing's own site (marketing for charter captains, fishing guides, and tour operators), moving off WordPress/Wix onto a headless Next.js 16 and Storyblok stack.
The problem
The agency's own site was running on the same WordPress/Wix stack it moves marine-industry clients off of. Every content change needed a developer, and nothing on the site signaled to AI crawlers and assistants what the agency does or where to find it.
Approach
I rebuilt the site on Next.js 16 App Router with Storyblok as a fully headless CMS: every content block (blok) is a typed React component, and non-technical staff manage all pages and blog posts directly in Storyblok's visual editor. The content schema itself is code, pushed through idempotent scripts rather than edited by hand in a dashboard. Built with Claude Code.
What I built
- Storyblok visual editor with live draft-mode preview and a webhook-driven publish-to-revalidate pipeline, so published changes go live with no redeploy
- Schema-as-code: idempotent setup, polish, and type-generation scripts manage the entire Storyblok content model and keep generated TypeScript types in sync with it
- A dynamic llms.txt route built at request time from published Storyblok stories, plus a sitemap, a robots.txt route, and an Agent Readiness Document at /.well-known/ard.json listing every agent-discoverable resource
- A terminal-styled developer.sh credits page as a verifiable authorship signature on the client-branded domain
- Interaction-triggered loading for Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel, keeping marketing tags off the critical rendering path
- Static generation for every Storyblok page via generateStaticParams, with next/font and Tailwind v4 theme tokens driving the design system
Result
Shipped a rebuild where the agency's own site runs the same headless architecture, AI-agent discoverability, and performance discipline it sells to marine-industry clients, fully editable by non-technical staff with no developer needed for day-to-day content.
